PD Planning: What is the proposed sequence of activities?

Before:

Reading an article “Teaching the Talk, Not the Text” prior to the session and identifying teaching approaches.

During:

Deconstructing video practice (whole groups discussion, using open-ended questions).

Facilitator modeling open ended discussion and talk moves.

Teachers identifying high leverage teaching practices for whole group discussion and response.

After:

Selecting a strategy to try out in the classroom.  Planning to film or share a classroom example (student work, audio recording, images). 

Read and share/ discuss professional texts (a selection of professional teacher books was shared).
